Friday Afternoon 1-4.

You’ve done the triangles (or not), now try weaving squares and rectangles with no measuring, warping, threading, winding or waste! The possibilities are endless on the projects you can create, but start with a phone/eyeglass case or a washcloth. Experienced students could finish a scarf.

Instructor: Bex Oliger

Materials Fee: $25 (payable to to instructor day of class).
Includes choice of yarns, use of 4 sizes of looms and tools during class, instructions.

Instructor Biography: Bex Oliger grew up in her mother’s (Carol Leigh Brack-Kaiser) Hillcreek Fiber Studio. She started learning weaving and natural dyeing at a young age and has traveled the country for 35 years with the family business vending and teaching at Fiber, Weaving and Knitting Shows. She helped design and weave several projects and assisted with many workshops highlighted in Carol Leigh’s books, The Continuous Strand Weaving Method and Nature Provides: Dyes for Rainbows. Bex is now a knitwear designer; knitting, weaving, and natural dyeing instructor and consultant; and owns Hillcreek Yarn Shoppe in Columbia, MO.
